소개ㅣ신란숙 작가의 작품은 빛이 겹겹이 쌓여 만들어낸 시간의 결이다. 수차례 덧입힌 옻칠이 번지며, 표면은 한없이 부드럽고 깊은 울림을 품는다. 그 빛은 강렬한 태양빛이 아니라, 어둠 속에 은은히 스며드는 달빛이다.
달빛은 모든 경계를 흐리게 만든다. 밝음과 어둠, 실재와 기억이 서로에게 스며들며 조용한 융합의 세계를 펼친다. 작가는 그 여백 속에서 빛과 마음이 맞닿는 지점을 포착한다. 화면에 드러나지 않은 감정의 결, 말로 설명되지 않는 내면의 흔적이 조용히 번진다.
작가에게 달항아리는 달빛이다. 완벽하지 않은 균형, 미묘한 비대칭은 오히려 인간적인 온기를 품는다. 가까이 다가서면 미세한 흔적과 균열이 마치 피부처럼 살아 숨 쉬며, 시간과 기억의 감각을 불러낸다.

보이지 않아도, 세상에는 여전히 빛이 있다.
그 빛은 조용히 마음의 결을 어루만지고
내면의 온기를 드러낸다.
달항아리의 곡선 속에서 나는
그 보이지 않는 빛의 숨결을 찾았다.
겹겹이 쌓인 옻의 시간과 기다림 속에서
빛은 더 깊어지고, 스스로를 잃지 않는다.
이번 전시는 보이지 않는 것들의 아름다움,
그리고 마음속에서 은은히 피어나는 빛에 대한 이야기이다. 그 달빛이 당신의 마음에도 고요히 머물길 바란다.
Curatorial Statement
Shin Ransook’s paintings are the grain of time, woven through layers of light.
Repeated coats of lacquer spread and merge, rendering the surface endlessly soft and resonant. Her light is not the fierce radiance of the sun, but the gentle glow of moonlight seeping into darkness.
Moonlight blurs all boundaries. Light and shadow, reality and memory gently dissolve into one another, unfolding a world of quiet convergence.
Within that stillness, Shin captures the moment where light and emotion meet. Unspoken traces of feeling, subtle rhythms of the inner self, quietly permeate the surface.
For the artist, the moon jar embodies the very essence of moonlight.
Its imperfect balance and delicate asymmetry hold a tender sense of humanity.
Up close, faint cracks and traces seem to breathe like skin, awakening the senses of time and memory.
Shin Ransook’s paintings transcend the visual. Light, sound, and emotion flow together, evoking an experience as if one could see with the ears and listen with the eyes.
